RISE Program for Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders

Since launching in October 2024, the RISE program has helped individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders regain strength, confidence, and connection.

Led by licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists, RISE combines proven therapy approaches with real-world support. And because every group is different, the program evolves with our participants – meeting people exactly where they are.

    SCHEDULE

Up to 6 classes per week

    CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CARDIO + MOVE: 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise using perceived rate of exertion or heart rate monitoring followed by 10-15 minutes of large amplitude movements to support flexibility and stamina.
CIRCUIT + STRENGTH: Rotate though stations that focus on skills such as balance, strength, and functional mobility incorporating strength training for some stations.
HIFI: High-Intensity Functional Interval (HIFI) will ensure heart rates are at each participant’s working level for the majority of the class. Both standing and sitting modifications will be offered. All will be encouraged to stand with assistance for part of the class.
SPEECH + SWALLOW: Posture and exercises to improve/maintain strength of the oral-motor cavity will be used to decrease the risk of difficulty with swallowing.
SPEECH + COMMUNICATION: Posture, breathing, and biofeedback will be utilized to decrease facial masking and improve socialization.
BIG PWR!: BIG PWR! is a high-energy class that boosts your heart rate with large amplitude exercises designed to improve balance, focus, and stamina.

Each class is led by licensed physical, occupational, or speech therapy practitioners. All are fully qualified and experienced in helping people with movement disorders.

At Trio Rehab, we are committed to helping you rise above the challenges of Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.

    A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HELP

    PEOPLE LIVING WITH PARKINSON’S DISEASE

Living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) can present unique challenges, but it doesn’t have to hold you back. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with the condition for some time, managing PD can be overwhelming. That’s why we’ve created RISE, a specialized wellness program designed to help you take charge of your disease and slow its progression.

    Why Join RISE?

Over the past year, participants have reported improvements in:

    • Balance and mobility → walking steadier, with fewer falls
    • Strength and endurance → more energy for daily life
    • Speech and communication → clearer voice, better conversations
    • Swallowing safety → greater confidence at meals
    • Cognitive strategies → tools to manage symptoms and adapt
    • Community connection → feeling less alone and more supported

    What Makes RISE Different?

Most programs stick to a set agenda. RISE is different. Our classes are therapist-led and participant-guided, making each session responsive to the people in the room. That means no two weeks look exactly the same because your needs come first.

    • Stroke recovery needs
    • Essential tremor, Huntington’s, or other movement disorders
