Speech Therapy

Effective and confident communication plays a vital role in our everyday lives professionally, academically, and socially. Speech and language deficiencies can result from a variety of issues ranging from developmental delays to major health conditions, including genetic disorders, stroke, or traumatic brain injury.

Speech Language Pathologists also support individuals who are experiencing difficulty with feeding and swallowing. When the ability to swallow medications as well as the foods and beverages we love is impaired, quality of life is negatively impacted. There is reason to suspect swallowing problems when a person experiences frequent choking, coughing during meals. These symptoms may indicate that food or liquid is entering the airway which can lead to aspiration pneumonia.

In all of these areas of concern, our approach is to administer a thorough evaluation to determine the area(s) of need and to provide skilled, knowledgeable, and up-to- date therapy techniques to improve communicative and swallowing abilities for our patients.
